Global Configuration Settings for Joomla: Cookie Settings

Cookies are used to keep track of user activities on the browser. For example, they can be used to remember sites that are frequently visited by users, data entered in sites, options selected on different sites, and so on. The Cookie Settings tab shows the following fields to configure cookies:

  • Cookie Domain: Enter the domain name for which the site’s cookies will be To make cookies valid for just the primary domain, enter www.your domain.com. The cookie must be set for the primary domain. Leave this field blank to make the full domain of the document set the cookie.
  • Cookie Path: Enter the URL path for which the site’s cookies will be Other pages cannot read or use the cookie. To make the cookie valid for the entire site, simply enter /. The default value has the current directory set the cookie.
