This menu item type is used to display a single article. Upon selecting this menu item type, you’ll see a form for specifying information, including the title, menu name, parent menu item, and so on. You can leave all the information the same as is shown in Figure 7-5.
The only thing you need to specify for this menu item type is the article name to be displayed. To do so, click the Select Article combo box, which will display a list of all available articles on your web site. Select the article “Latest Cameras” from the list, as shown in Figure 7-25. Then click the Save & Close icon to save the changes.
Open the browser window pointing at your Joomla web site and click the Refresh button. This time, when you select the menu item New Electronics Among Cameras And Cell Phones, you’ll see the contents of the article “Latest Cameras,” as shown in Figure 7-26.
To see the usage of the different menu item types, you will be using the menu item just created: New Electronics Among Cameras And Cell Phones. After looking at the impact of each menu item type from the front end, you will open the same menu item (from the back end) in edit mode. That is, you will open the Menu Manager by selecting the Menu Manager option, click the Edit Menu Item(s) icon in the Menu Item(s) column in the Electronic Products row to open the Menu Manager: Edit Menu Item page, select the Electronics among Cameras and Cell Phones menu item to open it in Edit mode, click the Menu Item Type combo box to display the list of all menu item types available, and finally select the menu item type that you want to apply.
